Symphony d'Oro Rancho Cordova and Maestro Pete Nowlen invite you to our fun-filled performance of "Mozart Madness", which premiered on YouTube on November 20, 2021. The concert was a live studio recording of a performance by the full ensemble and smaller ensembles playing the sublime music of favorite composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and a few of his contemporaries.
Soloists included pianist Carlos McMillan Fuentes and clarinetist Brennen Milton, first prize winners and Carnegie Hall performers of the Golden Music Chamber Music Competition in 2018; Stephen Bingen at French Horn; and Maestro Pete Nowlen in a very special and original performance.
Our Soloists
Carlos McMillan Fuentes (Piano) Carlos is a classically-trained pianist, composer, singer-songwriter, music educator, and a skilled accompanist. He has appeared in concert with many Sacramento-area orchestras, and has written dozens of compositions from solo piano to choir and orchestra. In 2018, his piano-woodwind duo “Carlos & Brennen” won first prize in the Golden Classical Music Awards, and were invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Composition with a focus in Piano Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in May 2011. |
Brennen Milton (Clarinet) Brennen, a Woodwind Instrumentalist & Bespoke Clothier, has performed music professionally for over 15 years. He holds a Masters of Music degree from California State University Sacramento (Sac State). Recently, Brennen, began selling face masks, in order to keep him and his community safe during the pandemic, and entered a collection of four looks in a local fashion sponsored by Self Designs Art Gallery. Stephen Bingen (French Horn) Stephen is a horn player, educator, and audio-recording engineer based in Sacramento, CA. He studied Music Education and Music Performance under Pete Nowlen at CSU Sacramento. In addition to performing with local ensembles such as Symphony D’Oro, Camellia Symphony Orchestra and the Sacramento Philharmonic, Bingen has appeared as a guest horn soloist with the California All State Honor Choir, CMEA Capitol Section Honor Choir, and Sac State Choirs. Bingen is also a professional audio engineer and owner of Living Sound, a recording and sound company based in Sacramento, as well as the head audio/visual engineer for the Department of Music at UC Davis. |
